Have a duration field on all screens instead of just start and end dates.

When we are creating a Gantt off of an SOW, the SOW only deals with estimated duration (in hours/days/weeks). It would be great to have the duration field present on all screens so we can easily add/edit this. For example on List view when we are putting in all the tasks, we should be able to say 'starts on this date, for a 10 day duration' and the system would automatically calculate the end date from that. Currently we have to open up end date calendar and count the days which adds up to a lot of time on large scale projects. (You have this field on detailed views of tasks, just not on the quicker views such as List and Gantt views). This would also help our reports as we are an agency and are more concerned with duration of tasks and how close our estimates were.

We're excited to share that the Duration column feature you voted for has officially shipped!
🎉 You can now view the task duration as a column in the Gantt view and within the task detail view, making it easier to track and manage project timelines.
What's New?
Duration Column in Gantt View: See the duration of each task directly in the Gantt chart, alongside other customizable columns like Start Date, End Date, and Progress. This helps you quickly assess task lengths at a glance.
Duration in Task Detail View: The duration is now included under the Details tab in the task detail view, alongside existing task information, for better visibility when reviewing tasks.
This update streamlines your workflow by providing clearer insights into task durations across your projects.
How to Access It
In the Gantt view, go to the View menu, select the Columns submenu, and enable the Duration column to display it in your chart.
In the task detail view, open any task, navigate to the Details tab, and you'll see the duration listed among the task's attributes.
If the Duration column isn’t visible yet, try refreshing your page to apply the latest settings. For more details on customizing your project view, check out our support article.
Thank You for Your Feedback!

No of days
PMO
While we prepare the gantt or even update it. we should have a column of "No of days" similar to start date and end date. It will help the project manager to create new projects if he/she adds start date of 1st days and then add no of days, it will auto populate end dates of that task and subsequently the following task as well if the predecessor is mapped.

Display Duration of Task
Frank Vidal
This applies to the List and Board views as well. As a user, I want to be able to view a column or field that displays the duration of a task in days.

you need to add a duration column so I can just go down the Gantt chart and change durations without clicking...into...each...one

Provide an easy way for people to enter a task, along with a start-date, duration, and dependency ID.

I know it sounds simple. IT's all I want. I want to say:
"Redesign of X" will take 5 days and either start on 11/3 or will depend on this other task. That's it. This is the most basic functionality anyone would want. After 10 minutes of fiddling, I could enter a task name but not a duration or dependency... unless that's all done via the dragging of the bars. If so, I'll pass.
No reply needed. Just feedback to you may retain the next guy who comes along.

Show duration in days as you drag task in Gantt view.
Ian Bowles
We have templates, but each of our projects is custom. When adding a new task I would love to see a duration as I extend the time by dragging it out on the gantt chart.

Task duration list view
Christine Pearson
Some of our project have a long time frame. The list view is a good summary, but lacks a duration column e.g. 1 month, 6 weeks, 6 months.
Start and end dates can be confusing for big projects.
